Mukwonago Fire & Rescue, Inc. (MFRI) is a non-profit organization formed by the membership of the Mukwonago Fire Department in 1999. The sole purpose of MFRI is to support the membership of the Mukwonago Fire Department. MFRI is a separate organization from the Mukwonago Fire Department.
The membership of MFRI consists of current paid-on-call, probationary, full-time, auxillary, and honorary members of the Mukwonago Fire Department.
MFRI supports the membership of the Mukwonago FIre Department by providing funds for items such as:
Annual Awards Banquet where we honor Mukwonago Fire Department personnel with Firefighter of the Year, EMT of the Year, service awards at 5 year milestones, and other awards;
Summer family picnic for spouses and children of the Mukwonago Fire Department as our way of thanking our families for all the support provided to us throughout the year;
Flower/plant arrangements in the event of a new born baby, funeral, hospitalization or serious illness;
Exercise equipment, electronics, and other equipment not available to be funded through the budget;
3 scholarships for graduating high school students in memory of past members;
and, the list goes on!
MFRI's main fund raising event is parking cars during Maxwell Street Days. This is a flea-market type event in Field Park over the course of one weekend in June, July, August, and September. MFRI provides parking in the Kiwanis Park (field lot) and at Park View Middle School from 6:00am - 3:00pm on Saturday and Sunday.
